Do you agree or disagree with the following statement:

Most of the characters in say you're one of them do not have free will ( the ability to make their own decisions).

In "Say you're oen of them" wrote by Akpan, I have a strong arguement that most of the characters in the book have a free will and some can not depend on their situtation. For an example, Uncle Fofo in the story of "Fatten for Gabon" made the decision of selling Kotchikpa and Yewa for money because he is an adult and their guardian while their parent were sick in bed with AIDS. I strongly agreed that he had the ability of free will but he choose something he dream of having over family members and attempt to sell them. The characters that do not have any free will or freedom that I read in "Say you're one of them"(Akpan). Most of them are childrens characters. The childrens are in the age of three to ten year old would not understand how hard to struggle for resources as the adults in the story.

Even though these stories take place in the middle of genocide in Africa, both “In my Parents’ bedroom” and “Fatten Gabon” shows moments of tragic and hope, such as Monique’s family’s willingness to save other Tutsi, Monique’s father difficult decision to kill his wife, and uncle, Fofo Kpee desire for riches.

Mitt Romney did not reply back with great answers when the questions asked about getting a job when college students graduated. Romney answers the question that would make people think, “Okay, I believed him but I have to vote for him first” to see what he want to do. He mentioned on how jobs is hard nowadays because people graduated with unpaid loans working 2-3 part time jobs and not being able to pay it off.  Obama stated that he want to provide peoples with jobs not just high pay jobs but a job that support a family. His speech were more satisfying cause of how he want to create jobs for the future and he provided evidences that he gave out a lots of jobs already and continue to do more.

The topic of clean energy, I care about this topic because we are killing our earth each day. We are running our planet dry because Mitt Romney want to continue to drill for oil and gas because Obama is not using the resources and gas price increased every years.  Barack Obama says that he want to make solar and wind power more popular in the future. Obama during his presidential years he did cut gas production in half. He will also continue to make solar energy more common and let the earth rest from the drying of the planet.

The stories we have studied, I do not think that unpopular countries such as Rwanda and Gabon have presidential election and debate to shape up the corruption.  Slave trade and different type business would likely to make contract with the government when they do exporting or importing item.

We've been studying stories written about life in war-torn countries and countries with incredibly corrupt political structures. Do you think the U.S. government is corrupt? Is it more or less corrupt than the governments in the other countries we've studied -- countries where genocide and child slavery are the norm rather than the exception? What do you think is the function of the ideal government? 

i think that the U.S. government is corrupted, although it is not as corrupted than the countries we've studied. The U.S. today don't allow genocide and child slavery in the country and i believe that some countries still have genocide and slavery. The U.S government provided the country good check and balance where one group will not achieve great power.  the average person in the us do have a voice. what i see in other countries that we've studied, they shows a lots of argument how their gorvnment is not helping and keeping the balance in the country.

The children's uncle and caretaker, Fofo Kpee, sells them into slavery. How does Fofo's poverty and vanity contribute to his unthinkable actions? Do his pangs of conscience redeem him for you?

Uncle Fofo Kpee, sells two children's into slavery because his poverty and vanity contribute to his unthinkable actions.  He rushed into wanting to be rich badly and end up with consequences.  Fofo business is to transport people over the boarder and get some quick cash in return but it is really dangerous, because doing what he do is illegal and if he was caught; the whole mission is doom. When Fofo Kpee would earn cash it would be put into food and other useful things. He was told that he would make a lots of money and would be able to  leave the poor standard life he was in. He received a Nanfang; a motorcycle as an extra rewards for his first step into the slavery trading business. Fofo Kpee had to learn the hard way that money can't buy everything. 

Do his pangs of conscience redeem him for you? Due to his unthinkable actions and selfish act. He is a man that lied and is not trustworthy. For an example he were supposed to deliver a total of five kids to big guy but he only bought two. Fofo made many promises to everyone and in the end he couldn't  kept his promise. Whatever that he had done in the story which is being unfaithful and being completely dishonest. He do not deserve the right to be with his family or have a family.

Kotchikpa seen the Nanfang that his uncle got and during his sleep the Nanfang followed him into his dream. the Nanfang symbolize him being rich, happy a lots of friends and a new living style. the nanfang is like a wife to him.
